Juniper the Badass Mastitis Survivor

Juniper was used as a breeding dog. She came down with necrotic mastitis and required a radical mastectomy. She nearly lost her life, but she is the toughest dog in the world! She is left with just two nipples and a scar that covers her whole abdomen.

When Juniper’s previous owners realized she could no longer have puppies and make them money, they decided to euthanize her. Luckily The Sparky Fund stepped up to save her life. I fostered her for months, doing daily bandage changes and injections of antibiotics. After about three months her abdomen finally closed and she became a new dog!

Juniper is kind, sweet, friendly, and grateful. She helps me to foster cleft palate puppies and bottle babies. She is an absolute gem of a dog.

Here she is mothering my most recent cleft pup.

Juniper deserves the world and all the happiness we can provide her with after the horrific pain and neglect she endured. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful dog in our lives.
